If you have been adversely affected by the Queensland floods in 2010/ 2011, you may be eligible for Commonwealth and/ or State Government assistance and grants.

Brisbane City Council has advised the following:

• All council waste transfer stations (rubbish dumps/ tips) will accept waste free of charge
  
• Flood victims will receive an additional 30 days to pay rates bills
• All Brisbane ratepayers in flood affected homes will receive a $100 rebate on their water bill so that they can use the water needed to clean up after the flood
• Council will not operate parking meters nor enforce timed parking zones and parking bays for 30 days in flood affected areas.

Note: it is unclear from Brisbane City Council's website when these 30 day periods will expire. The announcements were made in the week ending 15 January 2011.
