Elizabeth’s practice in personal legal services includes all aspects of family law, whether property, parenting or divorce, with a particular focus on working towards resolving matters out of court. It also includes the preparation of wills, estate planning and estate administration as well as family provision claims.
With extensive experience appearing in both the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court Elizabeth assists clients to navigate through property and parenting litigation, whilst maintaining a focus on resolving matters at the earliest opportunity.
As an Independent Children’s Lawyer appointed by the Court to represent children in complex family law matters, Elizabeth is passionate about achieving the best possible outcome for children in the family law system.
Elizabeth is passionate about knowledge and education and ensuring that clients are informed not only about the legal issue they are facing and the solutions available to them, but also ensuring that clients gain the knowledge about their legal issues necessary for them to make informed decisions to resolve their matter. Having easy to understand information about the legal issues surrounding a problem empowers clients to make decisions to resolve their matters, enabling them to find solutions to those legal issues that impact their lives.
When not at work Elizabeth enjoys wandering through bookstores, searching for collectable encyclopaedic books and dictionaries, as well as catching up with family and friends.
Elizabeth’s passion for knowledge and learning doesn’t stop with her clients. In addition to a Bachelor of Laws (QUT, 2004) leading to her admission as a Solicitor in 2005, Elizabeth has also completed a Master of Laws (QUT, 2009) and Masters in Applied Law (Family Law) (College of Law, 2014). Plans are already on foot for the next round of knowledge and learning with Elizabeth enrolling in a Master of Laws majoring in Wills and Estates in 2017.
Elizabeth is the Chair of the Board of the Working Against Violence Support Service (WAVSS). WAVSS is the Regional Domestic and Family Violence Service for Logan and the Redlands providing information, support and counselling for people, predominantly women and children, experiencing domestic and family violence. Elizabeth has been involved with WAVSS since 2010 and is passionate about supporting this integral service.
